Since 1958 he cooperated with the Central lending office of films in Prague, for which he created more than 300 posters before 1988. He was a long-term member of many poster committees and as an uncompromising defender of an artistic author poster he became the leading personality of the Czechoslovak poster school. He introduced many excellent artists to work on film posters and he gave a chance to succeed in this field to many young and talented artists as well. Together with his schoolmates, Milan Grygar, Zdeněk Ziegler and Karel Teissig he became the absolute top among artists who were designing film posters.
