Painter, graphic artist, illustrator. 1945-1949 State School of Graphic Arts (Prof. Richard Lander). 1949-1955 Academy of Applied Arts, Prague (Prof. Karel Svolinský). Duchoň makes good use of coulour woodcut technique in his graphics, combining coulour woodcut with coulour monotype. He is also involved in drawing, watercolour and pastel. In all these disciplines he produced variations on certain themes that could be combined into cycles (Black Ikaros, New Caprichos etc.). Later he became acquainted with the cuneiform of Hittite slabs and created stelas and totems with signs of calligrapghy, symbols of birds, butterflies and sailing boats. His illustration work is mostly associated with children’s literature. He has been a member of the Hollar group since 1957, and designed many film posters.
