Graphic Designer. 1963-1969 Academy of Applied Arts, Prague, Book and Poster Design Studio (Prog. František Muzika). 1970-1971 pst-gradate studies at the Central School of Art, London. Late 1960’s and early 1970’s: scholarships in Prance, The Netherlands, USA. Istlerová has devoted herself exclusively to applied graphics and typgraphy since 1977. Her typographic design is rooted in Czech constructivist typography, poetism and a newly approached tradition of old prints. Her ouput between 1964 and 1977 involved calligraphy, colge, etching and serigraphy that bore races of surrealism. She is a member of Typo& and TypoDesignClub in Prague, and has designed sveral typographic film posters.
