The Golden Era of Czechoslovak Film Poster - XIII. - Karel Teissig

Foyer cinema Světozor, Vodičkova 41, Prague (24. 3. 2011 - 31. 5. 2011) —

The exhibition of Karel Teissig’s movie posters is thirteen continuation in exhibition series “Golden age of Czechoslovak film poster”. Follow already showed exhibitions of best czechoslovak artists of movie posters Zdenek Ziegler, Josef Vyletal, Karel Vaca and Milan Grygar.

Karel Teissig belongs to five most important authors of czechoslovak movie poster (with Karel Vaca, Zdenek Ziegler, Milan Grygar and Josef Vyletal). He had been creating movie posters for 30 years (1959-1989) and created about a hundred of them.

In 1964 he won, as a first czechoslovak artist, Toulous-Lautrec price for poster The Possessors on competition of movie posters in Paris.

Karel Teissig belongs to lead book ilustrators as well. With absolutely original style he had illustrated more then 100 books.
