Czechoslowackie plakaty filmowe

Museum of Cinematography, Lodz, Poland (1. 12. 2008 - 30. 1. 2009) —

In association with the Museum of Cinematography in Lodz and Czech Centre in Warsaw was introduced a large-scale collection of ninty film posters by major Czech graphic artists

The exhibition took place in magnificent exhibition place of the Museum of Cinematography in Lodz that is situated in a former factoryowner Karol Scheibler´s residence from 19th century. It surveys a work of the most acknowledged Czech graphic artists. In the collection of almost ninty posters of A1 size are presented these authors: Karel Vaca, Milan Grygar, Josef Vyleťal, Karel Teissig, Jiří Balcar, Zdeněk Palcr, Zdenek Kaplan, Zdeněk Ziegler and others.

This exhibition is a result of cooperation establishing with the Cinematography Museum in Poland. The cooperation will continue with an exhibition called Confrontation in 2010. Here will be introduced the Czechoslovakian and Polish posters for same films and viewers will have a possibility to compare and contrast two most remarkable poster schools.

The exhibition was a part of supporting program at 16th IFF Plus Camerimages.

The exhibition was supported by the Czech centre in Warsaw.
