Eye in Poster - overall: 203

Kategorie

The motif of a human eye has always been very popular among Czech designers when working on film posters. Especially those authors who prefered collages or photomontages could not omit the human eye in their works … We would like to mention e.g. posters of the king of Czech montage Karel Teissig (The Purple Rose of Cairo, Soldier’s Father) or posters by Karel Vaca (The Girl With Shell and The Cry). Milan Grygar has also created several excellent „eyeish“ posters (Marathon Man, Lukáš). The master of typografical posters, Zdeněk Ziegler, incorporated the motif of an eye into some of his posters: I Shall Never Forget a Asiapol Secret Service.

An exhibition of Czechoslovak film posters with the eye in their motif is now displayed in the Prague based cinema Oko.
