Posters

The Terry Posters collection consists of over 15,000 posters from Czechoslovakia between 1930 and 1989. All posters are original prints from the year stated in the poster description- no copies or reprints. Posters labeled “not for sale” are represented by a single piece in our collection, and therefore we cannot put them up for sale.

Artists

From the early 1950s until 1989, leading Czechoslovak graphic artists devoted their time to the creation of film posters. It was only in Czechoslovakia and Poland that graphic artists worked on film posters to such an extent. In this section you will find posters by the 50 most influential Czechoslovakian artists, including Karel Vaca, Milan Grygar, and Zdeněk Ziegler. This section contains posters of not only Italian and American films, but also Japanese Sci-Fi Classics, Soviet propaganda films, and Czech films of the 1960s. You can find films from more countries not shown here by using the search bar.
