Studied at the State Graphic School in Prague (1947 – 1948), the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (1949 – 1953; Josef Novák) and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (1954 – 1957; František Tröster). He has exhibited as part of a group since 1954, ans as a part of a group since 1957. He has been a member of the group Křižovatka (Crossroads) from the modele of the 1960s as well as the Hollar Association of Czech Graphic Artists (from the year 1957), The Association of of Czech Grapic Artists František Kupka, the Art Association Geometrie (from the year 1990), the group Jiná geometrie (Another Geometry; from the year 1991) and the Association of Visual Artists Mánes (since the year 1992). Has worked with film posters over the years 1959 – 1974 producing twenty-seven posters.
