The Golden Era of Czechoslovak Film Poster - XII. - Josef Vyleťal

Foyer cinema Světozor, Vodičkova 41, Prague (4. 11. 2010 - 31. 12. 2010) —

The 12th edition of the Golden Era of Czechoslovak Film Poster introduces more than 60 film posters by Josef Vyleťal, He created 115 film posters for “Ústřední půjčovna filmů”. The exibition was held on 70. anniversary of author´s nearly birthday.

Josef Vyleťal´s designs are very specific in the whole context of Czechoslovak poster. His expressively colorful, surrealistic draw and paint combinated posters – week by week – had exploded literary for 15 years period at crossroads and other places in every czech town.

The exhibition was introduced by Josef Vyleťal´s wife Olga Poláčková Vyleťalová. She is also author of film posters including legendary poster “A Gentle Creature”: http://www.terry-posters.com/plakaty/parametr-1-autori/1226-polackova-vyletalova-olga.

We were honored to welcome the opening of other major makers of czechoslovak poster: Milan Grygar, Zdeněk Ziegler, Karel Machálek and Vratislav Hlavatý.
